Dr. Suresh Kumar Patra is an eminent nuclear physicist with wide exposure in India and abroad. He has worked extensively on various nuclear models to explain different atomic phenomena. He has large number of publication in high impact journals such as (Physical Review, Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics,  The Astrophysical Journals, Galaxy, Pramana, The European Physical Journal ). He is also a reviewer of leading journals in nuclear physics. He has pursued his research work in different prestigious institutes and laboratories and established his name and fame in international society of nuclear physics. To his credit he has 235 publications in international journals, 189 proceedings in national and international Symposia/Conferences/Workshops and a large numbers of invited talks in different scientific forums. He has contributed many articles in around 15 published books in nuclear physics and edited two books “Relativistic Mean Field Theory in Nuclear Physics” and “Nuclear Structure Physics”. He has supervised and co-supervised more than 20 Ph.D. students and 8 postdoctoral students.Besides his expert professional knowledge on tiny nucleus of atom he is also bothered to understand the vast cosmos.
