Amiable Shreerup Goswami completed his M.Sc. and M.Phil. from Utkal University. He has pursued research at Birbal Sahani Institute of Palaeobotany, Lucknow. He has obtained his Ph.D. and D.Sc. while serving this famous institute. Presently he is working as Professor in the Department of Geology, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Earlier he was Professor, Department of Earth Sciences, Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, Odisha, Associate Professor in the Department of Geology, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack.

Mr. Goswami has research experience of over 26 years. His specialisation is Palaeontology, Environmental Geology and Acoustic Science.

He has successfully undertaken six major projects supported by the national agencies. He has published 132 research papers in leading international and national journals. He is also author of six books. Twenty two (22) research scholars have completed Ph.D. under his guidance. One scholar has been awarded D.Sc. under his supervision. Two patents and three copyrights have been awarded to him.

He has been awarded BOYSCAST Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. On this fellowship he has carried our research on Palaeoclimate and Climate change at South African National Biodiversity Institute, Pretoria, South Africa. He has also pursued post doctoral research at Bernad Price Institute of Palaeontology, Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg and at AEON- Africa Earth Observatory Network and Department of Geological Sciences, University of Cape Town, South Africa.

He is also the life member of 15 scientific professional bodies. He has received Young Scientist Award for the year 2008 by Odisha Bigyana Academy, Government of Odisha. He was also recipient of highest award of Odisha Bigyana Academy, Government of Odisha i.e. Samanta Chandra Sekhar Award in 2011
