Our Journal Volume III NO IV

Towards Unification of Sciences attempts to develop harmony among vedic science, spiritual science and modern science.

Editor’s note

Autumn is the year’s last, loveliest smile – William Cullen Bryant,

Autumn season of the year 2025 appears with festivities and makes due progress with deciduous trees changing colors of their leaves through vibrant red, orange, yellow and brown before finally falling to ground. ‘Towards Unification of Sciences,’ volume 3, number 4, keeps its timely appointment with autumn 2025 presenting six numbers of papers. Starting with the new micro-micro domain physics bridging down various gaps, followed by, not only, physical reality of light being critically analyzed, but also, a new vision of light and space providing the cause for the constant velocity of light. Then the course changes to yoga darshana of ancient Indian philosophy, progress of unified field theory after Einstein era, and finally concludes with alien search, its dark side and opinion of Bhagabad Gita on it

The title of the first paper ‘The Micro-Micro Domain Physics: Bridging Classical, Field, and Quantum Theory,’ is by Prof. Bishnu Charanabinda Mohanty, where he has identified the feasibility of the existence of matter in the micro-micro domain which has made a change in the existing structure of atoms and other micro particles including the structure of vacuum/space medium. This important part of the new reality-based physics is that the common-sense knowledge, cause to effect analogy are made valid in micro domain physics which helps the unification of Vedic science, spiritual science and modern science. This new insight promotes realization of the harmony among classical theory, field theory, quantum theory and quantum field theory. The second and third papers are also by Prof. Mohanty, and that too both are on light; the titles, in that order are, ‘Critical Analysis on Physical Reality of Light,’ and ‘A New Vision of Light and Space: The Cause behind Constant Velocity.’ In the former paper, after giving a historical scientific development of knowledge on light, conceptualized as a particle, as a wave, as a particle associated with waves and as a quantum of electromagnetic field to explain different phenomena of light, he discusses about his new particle concept of light. In the new proposed concept light particles (photons) are particles of matter in the micro-micro domain. They are now reported to have mass, structure, non-electric charge and spin hence they have the ability to form fields in space by their physical presence as space matter particles. He confirms that this new concept has scope of explaining all phenomena of light with improved understanding of the structure and features of light particles and the medium through which light particles move. He is also of the opinion that this concept, in a way, supplements the quantum view by their direct physical presence. Prof. Mohanty has also utilized this new concept in explaining, scientifically, the constant velocity of light. At first, he puts up the examples of constant velocity of particles in the macro domain and the method of the scientific analysis to explain those cases, and then proposes to use this analogy to explain the constant velocity of light. Accordingly, in this paper, following his new concept of the fine structure of light particles and the space medium, he has proposed a new way of justifying the prevailing constant speed of light. Further, he concludes that the insight into the fine structure of light particles and the medium also has a greater scope of explaining different phenomena of light in a conceptual manner without duality.

The fourth paper titled ‘Yoga Darshana The Unique Contribution of Ancient Indian Philosophy,’ by Prof. Niranjan Barik is an in-depth presentation illuminating ancient Indian practices to achieve all aspects for living a meaningful and righteous life. Giving a cursory look to the vast literature of ancient Indian Vedic literature concerning the six major schools of Vedic philosophy – Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Purva-Mimamsa, Shamskhya, Vedanta and Yoga; he has highlighted details about yogic doctrines covering all yoga such as Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga/Kriya Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Kundalini Yoga etc. and how these practices lead the practitioners to achieve physical wellness, mental bliss, spiritual wellbeing and at the end, the ultimate liberation. Finally, he concludes that, as of now, there would be no denying of the fact that the Ancient Indian Wisdom prescribing a unique mind-body technology through ‘Yoga’ asserting primacy to mind over body for all round wellness in living a life has now captured the attention of the whole world. The fifth paper ‘Unified Field Theory: Post-Einstein-Journey So Far,’ is by my-self, where, following Einstein’s vision of Unified Field Theory (UFT) in the last issue of this journal, this paper is a brief narrative of the efforts towards achieving a consistent UFT during the post Einstein era extending till today. Major efforts have been made in the direction of developing Grand Unified Theories (GUTs) and Theory of Everything (TOEs), the last one trying to combine general relativity and quantum mechanics. In spite of lots of efforts, generation of vast literature, the theoretical physicists are yet to approve a consistent TOE, which is the modern equivalent of UFT. The title of the final paper, ‘Dark Side of Alien Search and Opinion of Bhagavad Gita,’ is by Dr. Kamala Kanta Jena. The author recognizes that the search for alien is not only a great scientific pursuit, but also, a grand adventure of our human civilization. Still the research must be blended with caution, since, in one hand, the search enthuse scientific and cultural progress, but on the other hand it carries risks that needs to be carefully managed. While making critical analyses of the dilemma, the author seeks the opinion of Bhagavad Gita which is highly significant with its rules and regulations neither prohibiting nor discouraging exploration of other life forms. However, it reminds our researchers to duly recognize the vastness of creation, pursue knowledge with caution and balance, treat all beings as divine manifestations, and remember that the highest truth lies in self-realization, not just external discovery.

This issue of ‘Towards unification of sciences,’ truly, provides this year’s last and loveliest smile to its readers.
