INSTITUTE OF PHILOSOPHY OF NATURE
Our Journal Volume III NO I
Towards Unification of Sciences attempts to develop harmony among vedic science, spiritual science and modern science.
Editor’s note
“It is the sun-fluids or emanations that impart all motion, and awaken all into life, in the Solar System. It is attraction and repulsion, but not as understood by modern Physics or according to the law of gravity, but in harmony with the laws of manvantaric motion designed from the early Sandhyâ, the Dawn of the rebuilding and higher reformation of the System.“– H.P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine, Vol. 1, p. 578 (1888).
This issue of ‘Towards Unification of Sciences,’ volume 3, number 1, marks its entry into the third year of publication, and contains a total of six papers. The first three explain various motions of the orbital bodies by Prof. Bishnu Charanabinda Mohanty, and then, the same author revisits the particle concept of sound in the fourth paper. It is followed by a presentation of the planetary systems according to modern science as well as Indian mythology by Prof. Kamala Kanta Jena in the fifth paper, and finally the last paper is by Prof. Rajat Kumar Pradhan and his coauthor envisaging the facts and figures vis-à-vis the causes and cures of global warming.
The first paper is ‘Analysis of cause of excess motion of Mercury at perihelion.’ In the earlier papers in previous issues of this journal, Prof. Mohanty has already introduced the new fluid dynamics model and explained various dynamics of planets such as their revolution, rotation and axial oscillation etc. by using this new model. In this article also he feels that the likely cause of excess motion of mercury at perihelion can be explained by considering the fluid dynamics and celestial charge interaction. He concludes that the fluid dynamic analysis may not require any additional theories to justify the same. The next two papers titled ‘perpetual rotation and oscillation of axis of orbital celestial bodies,’ and ‘Unrealistic angular momentum of an orbital body becomes redundant for the fluid dynamics model in justifying Kepler’s Law’ are also explained using the new fluid dynamics model. For the former paper, the author discusses about the celestial charge interaction in providing the motive force for different motions of the celestial body which accelerates in those motions by celestial charge interactions against the resistance of space medium. The resistance of space medium increases rapidly with the increase in velocity of the celestial body thereby the motions of celestial body stabilize at different specific speeds where the effective motive force becomes zero. In this manner the motions of celestial body are perpetual. For the latter paper Prof. Mohanty argues that, though conservation of angular momentum of orbital bodies has been greatly vindicated and well established in orbital dynamics, it lacks reality. He opines that the newly proposed fluid dynamics of solar system is realistic and concludes that the fluid dynamics model of solar system does not require the angular momentum to justify the change of velocity at different orbital distance (Kepler’s Law).
The fourth paper titled ‘Revival of particle concept of Sound’ is also by Prof. Mohanty. After presenting both the particle concept and wave concept of sound, he argues that since the phonons are formally integrated into solid-state physics, describing sound as a quantum mechanical phenomenon in materials, both the concepts are accepted allowing the dual concept for sound. However, he has shown that mechanical waves of sound frequency produced in air by oscillation of a plunger/piston does not produce sound which straight away disagrees with the wave concept of sound. Further, quantum Acoustics and the interpretation of solid-state physics on sound conceptualize hypothetical sound particles as phonon. Thus, the particle concept is inevitable in advance analysis of sound in solid state. The author goes ahead concluding that the new interpretation of sound particles carrying fractional electric charge has far reaching consequence in removing duality from theory of light with the new consideration of non-electric charge (photonic charge). In the fifth paper, ‘Planetary System in Indian Mythology’, the author Prof. Jena discusses how the planetary system is evolved in Indian mythology and used in Indian society. He shows that, even if there are lots of differences between the concepts of modern science and Indian mythology on the planetary systems, at the same time, calculations for solar and lunar eclipses by both find a close match. The author concludes that scientists of our country should think more on this aspect, and the Indian knowledge system and the theorems described in our mythology should be explored in greater depth. The sixth (last) paper is on ‘Global warming: From facts and figures to causes and cures.’ In this paper, the authors Prof(s) Tripathy and Pradhan have provided the facts and figures relating to the phenomenon of global warming and then highlighted the causes. Their analysis shows that deeper problems exist in the collective psyche of mankind which needs to be addressed in order to generate lasting solutions for the various problems we are facing. They have argued that any kind of superficial or half measures should be totally avoided, because that will simply push the problems a little farther into the future. They have also fixed a role for India as a global awakener.
With this issue, the journey ‘towards unification of sciences’ happily enters into the third year.
